This timer started the day TimerEnd.com went live, and it has been counting every second since. Each of those seconds went into building a place for your birthdays, weddings, trips, exams and new beginnings.

Timer End 2100 — 21st Century End.
Dear friend in the future,
I started this timer in 2026, a quarter of the way into the twenty-first century, and set it to count all the way to the year 2100. As I write these words, you are still a dream, someone we can only imagine. But I wanted to leave you a small letter, in case you find it when the last second falls.
We were a lucky generation. We watched the whole world fit into the palm of a hand, and saw people on opposite sides of the planet talk face to face as if they were in the same room. We read the full code of human life for the first time, and began learning to rewrite it to heal. We sent rovers rolling across the red dust of Mars and flew a tiny helicopter in its thin air. We heard the faint ripple of two black holes colliding, took the first picture of one, and pointed a golden telescope at the earliest galaxies ever seen. We taught rockets to land and fly again, and turned sunlight and wind into everyday power.
Perhaps the most remarkable change of all: this was the century when artificial intelligence stepped out of science fiction and became a tool open to everyone, everywhere in the world. Anyone with a phone could ask it a question, learn something new, translate between languages, or write and create alongside it. For the first time, human curiosity had a companion that never grew tired of our questions. Even the website that holds this letter was born this way: I launched TimerEnd.com with the help of artificial intelligence, side by side with my own experience as its developer.
We also carried big questions we could not fully answer. How do we care for the only planet we have? How do we bring clean water, good medicine and a good school to every child? How do we use our clever machines wisely? And how do we stay close to one another in a world full of screens? I like to believe that you found beautiful answers to all of them, and maybe, by now, you have walked on Mars too.
Many of us will not be here when this timer reaches zero, and that is all right. Our children and grandchildren will be, carrying our names, our stories and the little habits we taught them without knowing it. Every birthday we counted down to, every wedding, every first step and every homecoming became a memory, and those memories now live on in you.
So when the final second falls and a new century begins, please pause for a moment. Look up at the sky, hold someone you love, and know that long before you were born, someone was thinking of you with hope.
